Early-morning storms move through Alabama
News

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- The FOX6 Stormwarn Team says a line of showers and thurnderstorms has caused
some issues in our area, despite the fact that it appears to have weakened.

Stronger storms are expected to hit the Central Alabama area around noon on
Monday. Tornadoes are not expected due to the stability of the air, but
straight-line winds are said to be the primary danger. Wind gusts have been
noted as up to 40 mph and the rain should continue through the early part of
rush hour. Heavy rainfall is also expected before the storms exit around 4 p.m.

The cold front pushing the storms is believed to bring temperatures in the
30's that will keep the rest of the week noticably cool. Another chance of
showers and storms comes this weekend.
